The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of Russia recommends that the country's mobile operators stop providing the service of unlimited mobile Internet.
This is due to the need to ensure uniform load on the communication network in order to ensure the quality of communication. Unlimited traffic consumption causes a larger load on cellular operators.
The Comments of the Office says:
Unlimited tariffs companies recommend to translate into batch, that they are glad to support, because This will make it possible to significantly reduce costs.
In MegaFon, I called the recommendation to be relevant, noting difficulties with the supply of telecommunications and computing equipment, which may in a negative scenario lead to a decrease in the quality of communication services and reduce the stability of networks.
"MTS" stated that restrictions for unlimited tariffs would allow the necessary safety margin even with a sharp increase in mobile Internet consumption.
"T2 RTK Holding" (Tele2) also spoke in favor of such a restriction, adding that always carefully used such types of tariffs to protect the network from loads.
Even with the last autumn "VimpelCom", "MegaFon" and Tele2 stopped connecting new subscribers to tariffs with unlimited Internet. Prices grew on them, the speed was reduced. At MTS, such an option has been preserved only on two premium tariffs.
In the spring, some owners of tariffs with unlimited Internet reported on compulsory switching to other tariffs. At the same time, all stored on the SIM card (not in the phone), contacts and text messages disappeared.
Another measure of support for telecom operators has become an annual moratorium on fulfilling the requirements for storing user traffic.
