- Apr 29
The analytical company Counterpoint Research published a report that provides data on smartphone sales for the first quarter of this year. According to the information, the TRANSION HOLDINGS, which owns the brands Infinix, Tecno and Itel, increased sales by 23% with respect to the first quarter of last year, exceeding the mark of 22 million shipped devices. Infinix growth for the specified period is noted at 76% and now Infinix is the title of fast -growing brand, Tecno growth was 28%, and the number of smartphones sold exceeded 10 million units
Realme, although it increased sales in relation to the first quarter of last year by 13%, lost the title of the fastest growing brand, Honor also pushed Realme from a sixth position, shipping 16 million smartphones against 14.5 million from Realme. Thus, despite the local successes in India, in general, Realme began to lose its position around the world
For all companies from the top 5, the share of the first quarter decreased, Samsung and Apple (minus 1-3% of the share) were least affected, more than others-Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo (minus 18-20% of the share)
This suggests that the successes of TransSion Holdings are not accidental, since it is the brands belonging to this company that revolutions in the budget segment that attract buyers with favorable characteristics for adequate costs, promote innovations to the masses and make the best devices in their segments
