The AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 series will offer up to 8 cores and 16 streams and a clock frequency to 4.9 GHz. This is a new generation of Ryzen mobile processors for business laptops and professional laptops. The series is based on the 6-nm Zen3 + architecture under the code name Rembrandt, which also comes with RDNA2 graphics.
The series is divided into H and U. The first reaches 45 W, but also produced in an embodiment of 35 W known as HS for thinner structures, although there is no change in the clock frequency of changes. The U-default series processors will be limited to 28 W, but can be confirmed from 15 to 30 W. In addition, AMD launches a new series of Ryzen Pro 5 × 75 U, based on the older 7-nm Zen3 architecture with VEGA graphics.
Increased battery life and increased performance compared to the Pro 5000 series based on CEZANNE processor are one of the main features of the new SKU. AMD declares until 29 hours of autonomous work when playing video on the Ryzen 7 Pro processor 6850U.
This SKU can increase productivity up to 10% at 15 W (the same TDP as the predecessor) or up to 30% at 28 W. However, definitely, the biggest update concerns the graphics. AMD claims here about increasing productivity by 50% at 15 W and to 110% at 28 W:
Today AMD announces several business laptops from HP and Lenovo with Ryzen Pro 6000 processors, Ryzen Pro 5 × 75 or Ryzen 5000. These designs should be affordable in the coming weeks, but the start date is not specified. Some of these laptops have already been presented at CES 2022, for example, ThinkPad Z, which is supplied exclusively with the Ryzen 7 Pro 6860Z processor.
