NVIDIA has just announced a very innovative way to combat carbon emissions in the world due to its CNHC initiative (carbon-negative heating consortium) and the first generation of Heatforce's intelligent heaters (Heatforce) Mark I for crypto-mining. The idea is that instead of using your stupid 1500-watt heater, why not replace it with an NVIDIA intelligent heater, which may (depending on your choice) or give you zero carbon, or negative carbon.
NVIDIA begins with a conversation about the problem of "vain work". The houses are heated by gas or electrical heaters (less often with thermal pumps). In any case, considering that the heat is the final product of almost all of the work done (calculations), this is the energy that could be used to perform valuable calculations before it is invested in heat. Based on the profitability indicators of today's cryptocurrency, NVIDIA assesses that 1500 W is enough to get about $ 500 profit (after taking into account your electricity account).
Now let's talk about how it works. If you use a 1500 W heater for 8 hours a day, you will use about 360 kWh electricity per month. The rate of production CO2 is now about 0.85 pounds per kWh. This means that you make approximately 306 pounds in emissions per month. For those who work with SI units, this is 163 kg of CO2 produced per month. Now removal (or capturing) 1 tons of CO2 costs about $ 600. In other words, the alleged NVIDIA $ 500 will be enough to sequest the 830 kg per month. Now NVIDIA provides users with a selection: the heater will have two options: Carbon Zero and Carbon Negative.
In CARBON ZERO mode, about 17% of the total revenue will go to the corporation that will use it to bind the entire contribution of CO2 into the air. The rest can be put in the built-in hardware cryptocurrency wallet. In Carbon Negativity, you can set how much more you want to contribute to carbon removal - up to 100%.
Nvidia Heatforce Mark I is not equipped with one, but by two Ada Lovelace graphics processors. These graphics processors were specialized for mining cryptocurrency and will not have any display ports, and will also have a very high clock frequency. We expect about 500 MH / S cryptocurrency in consumption of approximately 1,400 W. The company also delivered a 1500 W solid power supply unit complete with a heater. As for heat production, the Heatforce Mark I is able to quickly heat the room with a size of 17x17 meters. It is also equipped with a medical-class HEPA filter that removes up to 99.99% of viruses, bacteria and allergens.
"Smart" device functions are supported by the next-generation NVIDIA Grace SOC processor. It has a connection to Wi-Fi 8 for uninterrupted support for mining in the pool and has an automatic temperature controller (which, naturally, is a regulator of cryptocurrency hashing speed). It also contains PM2.5 and humidity sensors for calculating the AQI USA in your room in real time. Although we still do not know the price, it is an incredibly good idea that allows you to get a lot of glasses at a time. You not only get a heating device that actually uses energy before spending it in the form of heat, but you can also contribute to the removal of CO2 from the environment. The medical class HEPA filter also means that you need less worry about any pathogens or irritants in the air.
