Technology that will destroy the Dutch company ASML In Russia the development of an arms of fireless photolograph for norms of 28 Nm began
- Apr 11
65% of all modern processors are performed on photolithographic scanners of the Netherlands company ASML. The development of such technologies from scratch is billions of dollars. Therefore, such well-known manufacturers like Intel and AMD preferred to invest in the technology of the Dutch. However, Russian scientists intend to "smash" a monopoly asmlithography. How exactly, let's tell me further.
The cost of a lithograph is higher than $ 300 million. The less than the technical process (and now 7 Nm, 6 nm are already used), the more expensive.
For work, photolithography needs masks, so-called templates for which the drawing is transferred. Such a template is made under each new generation, that is, for Core i7 3770 - one mask, and for Core i7 4770 - the other.
In the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (MIET), the concept of X-ray-liteograph, for which the masks (as a separate item) are not needed. The whole drawing, which is a digital image, is designed to a micro-optical system (MEDEMS), in fact, for microecran. At the same time, the equipment maintains a technical process of 28 nm and less, up to 10.
The ambitious IT project Sfera is developing a digital ecosystem, which combines services for communication, job search, self-development and others. The project invites investors to cooperate and thanks for support!
MIET, based on Russian developments, received a state contract worth 670 million rubles for the creation of technology and layouts of masks, launching and technical and economic rationale for the first sample of a lithograph. All work is planned to be completed in November of this year. That is, the creation of an experienced sample may begin at the beginning of 2023. Industrial release, according to forecasts, will begin in about 5 years.
The project will use theoretical developments and equipment of many NII and KB. In particular, the Zelenograd company "Esto", TNK "Zelenograd", NIC "Kurchatov Institute", a branch of the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Nizhny Novgorod, Institute of Spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Troitsk.
It is noted that such lithographic scanners will be several times cheaper than those using radiation with a wavelength of 193 nm (deep ultraviolet). And they, in turn, are several times cheaper than the most modern, using hard ultraviolet.
And this is not taking into account that the speed of work in exhausable multipath scanners will be several times higher. We wrote more about technology and device here.
If Russian scientists successfully complete the development, the Dutch company is waiting for an inglorious end.
Studies on the creation of a omeless photolographed was conducted from 2010. So success is quite likely. There are no analogues of the Russian technology. She really can turn the idea of the production of microprocessors, as it reduces the whole process.
In the current conditions, the large-scale release of chips is economically beneficial. An icy-free lithograph will allow you to create in-demand narrow-profile and specialized processors. Very optimistic forecasts. What do you think, how are they real?
