The chief architect of game solutions and marketing AMD - Frank Azor published a diagram illustrating the greatest AMD potential right now, namely the best productivity for the dollar. The diagram includes all the Radeon RX 6000 video cards, even the recently released RX 6x50XT series. Each card is compared with SKU NVIDIA RTX 30 at a similar price, and it seems that the list shows all cards except RTX 3090 Ti.
The fastest AMD RDNA2, Radeon RX 6950XT, provides up to 80% higher performance for the dollar compared to the GeForce RTX 3090. The card also consumes 15 W less energy. The NVIDIA RTX 30 graphic processors are clearly more competitive in the High-End segment, where the RTX 3070-3080 series is almost inferior to AMD graphic processors.
Considering how quickly the prices for graphic processors change today, and the fact that this diagram is based on prices from May 10 from NEWEGG (that is, only in one store), it may no longer accurately reflect the current situation. Nevertheless, for us this is a good opportunity to see how AMD sees the current market situation.
In addition, this can be the beginning of a new marketing war between AMD and NVIDIA, which will offer gamers even more favorable prices. Prices are really much better than only a few months ago, but, given how close to launch the new series, we could expect much better prices.
