You can rarely see how a company producing game peripheral devices takes a decisive step and creates its own laptop design. But he became a little less rare because Corsair announced its very first laptop. Corsair Voyager A1600 is an impressive hardware with the appropriate price, but, unfortunately, at the time of writing, he did not have an official launch date.
Thanks to the 16-inch screen and thickness of 0.78 inches (19.9 mm), Voyager firmly occupies a leading position in the gaming laptop market, even before it weighs 2.4 kg. But the sharp corners of the laptop and wide, continuous surfaces make it more slender than it really is. It looks like an invisible plane that looks small and smooth until you see it personally and understand that its length is 20 meters. As soon as you overcome the sharp corners around the hinge, the most distinguishing feature will certainly be the touch panel built into the same area.
Although at first glance it looks like the Apple MacBook Touchbar, focused on games, is not entirely true. This panel is mainly static, contains ten “s-klavish”, which can be adjusted as the Elgato control panel controlled by the same Stream Deck software. There is a constant battery display, but the rest of the panel will not be distracted. And thanks to the impressive size of the laptop, it does not replace the functional row on the keyboard, which is surrounded by speakers on three sides. The keys themselves are worthy of attention: low -profile switches are provided by none other than the legend of Cherry's mechanical keyboards. Naturally, RGB backlighting is located below, and pay attention to a special fingerprint scanner on the right side.
But how are the insides? Inside Voyager is the latest computing power that AMD can provide. It will be delivered with the Ryzen 7 6800hs or Ryzen 9 6900hs processors to choose from, both paired with the RX 6800M graphic processor. The 16-inch screen is a LED panel convenient for gamers with a resolution of 2560 × 1600, which issues 240 Hz. 32 or 64 GB of RAM DDR5, as well as a solid -state drive PCIe 4.0 with a capacity of 1 TB or 2 TB, is offered. The battery is the most affordable, 99 watt hours, although there is no mention of real battery life. And the set of ports includes a triple USB-C (two with the speeds of Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4.0), one USB-A for old accessories and a full-sized SD card. The webcam “Simple” 1080p, but it seems that it works in tandem with an IR type compatible with Windows Hello. It seems that for all this powerful equipment a laptop requires a company charger.
Despite the obvious gaming power with these combinations of the processor and graphic processor and the official name, which includes the Gaming Laptop, Corsair also promotes Voyager A1600 as a machine for content creators and streamers. Built-in Stream Deck and SD card buttons are part of this approach, although something tells me that YouTuber and Streamers will use their own camera settings and microphone.
Corsair Voyager A1600 will be delivered in two versions at an impressive price of $ 2700 and 3,000. Not the most expensive car for games or creating multimedia, but far from mass.
