Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 more performance and energy efficiency

On Qualcomm Night in China, the company introduced an updated SOC for flagship mobile devices. Although Gen1 began to be supplied with new devices just a few months ago, the company standing outside the Snapdragon series is ready to announce its successor or, more precisely, the update: 8+ Gen1 should be considered updating the middle series.
Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 is based on TSMC N4 process process. The choice of Taiwanese foundry gave Qualcomm to increase the clock frequency compared to SOC Gen1, which is produced by Samsung. There is a noticeable increase in frequency compared to Gen1:

According to official specifications, other processor IP blocks have not undergone changes, 8+ Gen1 is simply optimized in terms of performance and power of the SKU using a new node. This unlocked up to 15% of energy savings throughout the chip. In addition, the company claims that their graphic processor now consumes 30% less energy, and the energy efficiency of the processor increased by 30%.
The first devices with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 will go on sale in the third quarter of this year. Qualcomm confirmed that there will be several new phones from ASUS, Motorola, OnePlus, Honor and Xiaomi with this new processor.
