UNIHERTZ TITAN SLIM An unusual smartphone with a keyboard
- May 16
Hello Zen!
Crowdfunding in the world of smartphones is already familiar: small companies open on various sites (most often kickstarter, which can be transferred literally as a “kick to start” - funny) collecting a certain amount of money for the production of their own product - sometimes they manage to collect large times large times amounts from the original "ceiling". Typically, crowdfunding smartphones come out unusual, which bribes people.
The Chinese company Unihertz is far from a beginner in this matter. She already had experience in the release of peculiar smartphones - for example, Unihertz Jelly 2, or "one of the smallest smartphones in the world." Now the Chinese decided to remind people of the original BlackBerry brand by release of the UNIHERTZ Titan Slim smartphone with a QWERTY -keyboard located on the case - many still remember the ERU of the CPC and miss physical buttons. The predecessor of the smartphone is Uniihertz Titan.
The main feature of the Titan Slim lies precisely in the physical keyboard located under the display, which includes a full -fledged English layout and several additional buttons for working with the text. For those who have not met physical keys earlier, they may seem small and uncomfortable, but it seems to me that this is a matter of habit - at one time I am quickly used to small buttons in Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini.
The smartphone display by current standards is very small - 4.2 inches, which is why the matrix has a low resolution of 1280x768 pixels. At the same time, the general compactness of the device has been preserved: its length is 147 mm, width is 67.6 mm. True, there is one thing: UNIHERTZ TITAN SLIM cannot be called slim - 12.75 mm thick they say this directly (now you are very difficult to meet a smartphone with a thickness of more than 9 mm). Such a "brick" surprisingly weighs only 204 grams. The back surface is made of glass.
It is not surprising: the smartphone was not equipped with an increased capacity battery - the manufacturer cost 4100 mA/h. And this is justified - the screen will definitely not eat much, and it will fully play on such a smartphone a small percentage of users. A little unlucky with energy efficiency: the MediaTek Helio P70 processor has been installed in the smartphone, made according to the 12-nanometer process. Its performance also does not shine: the cortex-a73 nuclei (X4, 2.1 GHz) and Cortex-A53 (X4, 2 GHz) do not work at high frequencies, although the power reserve for the smartphone, nevertheless, should be enough to work with applications, documents, and browser. There is enough memory in it - the only version of the 6/256 GB does not provide for the expansion of the drive by a memory card, but many of this volume will be “for the eyes”.
They didn’t leave the smartphone without the camera: a single module with a resolution of 48 MP and a flash were located on the back, and an 8 megapixel sensor is available on the front side placed on the upper frame. Nobody will say about the abilities of the camera and I think, as well as compare it with cameras of other smartphones - this makes no much sense.
The fingerprint scanner is located above the keyboard - it is made in the form of a separate site and gives a small nostalgia at the times when manufacturers placed the scanner in the "home" button. Among other interesting functions - scrolling on the keyboard (we run a finger along the keyboard up/down, thereby scrolling through the pages in the browser/social networks), keyboard illumination and IR sensor for controlling smart equipment. Supported Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and 4G, it is possible to install two Nano-SIMs, and there is also Russian among the supported languages. From the box, the smartphone works on the basis of the pure Android 11th version. The official page of the Kickstarter brand reports about the cost of a smartphone of $ 250. A very interesting offer for those who miss tactile sensations and a convenient set of text, especially for that kind of money.
