Europol announced the liquidation of the infrastructure of Flubot, attacking mobile devices both on Android and iOS. Recall that the corresponding harmful program was distributed through SMS messages.

This spy software for mobile devices is also called Fedex Banker and Cabassus. It has been attacking users since the end of 2020, and its geography includes the USA, Europe, Australia, Japan and New Zealand.

Malfunge operators use samining-the form of phishing, implemented through SMS messages. The goal is to force the user to follow the link and download the Payload to the smartphone. Initially, Flubot specialized in Android devices, but not so long ago moved to iOS.

As noted by researchers in the field of cybersecurity, as part of the campaign to spread this mobile threat, they observed tens of thousands of malicious text messages. As a rule, such SMS disguised as a vocal mail, but sometimes attackers used fake notifications of delivery as a bait and similar phishing techniques.

After installation on the Flubot device, I began to send messages on the list of contacts, as well as stealing passwords, financial information and other confidential data.

According to representatives of the Europol, the Dutch police managed to eliminate the infrastructure of Flubot operators. Now she is under the control of law enforcement agencies.#Android
