Russia launched a new silk path without China and bypassing the spheres of influence of Europe
- Jun 28
While foreign companies are leaving Russia, Western countries refuse cooperation, and the course on the exchange jumps, Moscow sets up logistics chains. So, together with Iran and India, a new transit corridor "North - South" is opened. Many years ago he was mothballed. Now is the time to remember him and start actively using it. Will Kazakhstan participate in this route? We prepared the answer to this and other questions in the article.
The first 40 containers on the route St. Petersburg-Navi-Mumbai have already been sent. From St. Petersburg by rail, the cargo went to the port in Astrakhan. Further along the Caspian Sea - to the port of Enzeli in Iran. After customs control, goods will be sent to the city of Bender-Abbas by land. Next, the containers of the sea will be transported to the port of Navi-Mumbai in India.
The length of the corridor is more than 7000 km. The formation of the international transport corridor "North - South" was initiated by the Ministry of Transport of Russia in order to implement the strategic partnership of Russia with the countries of the Caspian region.
The domestic IT project SFERA is preparing for a beta release. Leave applications for registration. The first users are waiting for pleasant bonuses! The team thanks everyone for support.
The government notes that the North -South corridor will become a direct competitor to the Suez Canal. The main advantage of the corridor is the reduction in the distance of transportation and saving funds, compared with the cost of transportation along the sea route. Currently, work is underway on the formation of the India - Iran - Azerbaijan - Russia route. The route involves marine, railway and road transportation of goods.
It is worth noting that such a route is not chosen by chance. The corridor takes place in such a way as to bypass the countries that are turned towards the West in their foreign policy. Kazakhstan is not involved in the route. The authorities of the republic understand that they need economic cooperation with Russia. However, they are at a crossroads and are more inclined to China and the West.
What do you think to expect from a new transit corridor? Will he get a competitor for existing routes?
