The last HTC smartphone in my collection was HTC Explorer - a compact model on the Snapdragon S1 (MSM7225A) single -core processor from Qualcomm, which you could not even hear about. The chip included a set of ARMV7 instructions, which in those days was very important - the transition from ARMV6 to a new version foreshadowed the cessation of software support with old devices, but I really wanted to stay in the wave. The time was fun, and the smartphones were different then - this HTC, for example, had a screen of only 3.2 inches, and in 2012 this was enough for playing GTA 3.

Since that time, I did not pay attention to the Taiwanese company, although it had enough significant models - to take the same HTC Wildfire S or Desire HD. At one point, the greatness of the HTC has disappeared somewhere-the company moved to a rare issue of ODM models, and with this approach it is simply impossible to return to large sales and building up.

Now the HTC is not at all interested in the mass production of smartphones, bypassing only single models - the company is more focused on metavselnaya, VR and various technologies. The release of the HTC Desire 22 Pro smartphone in June of this year only confirms this: the main goal of the device is access to the Viverse metavselnaya, and only then customers, according to the company’s idea, should pay attention to design and technical equipment.

The smartphone operates on the Snapdragon 695 processor (6 nm, 8 nuclei, up to 2.2 GHz) - this will be enough for him both for the metavselnaya and to work with VR; The option itself is normal, if you do not call the device based on this chip "flagship". I am not without reason about the flagship - HTC Desire 22 Pro has some makings for this.

The first of them is the full -fledged moisture protection of the IP67 case, which automatically increases interest in the smartphone. The device is not small, and its design resembles what we saw in the 2018th year-a la "iPhone x". Modern is the front side, although the framework cannot be called thin.

The screen has a feature in the form of support for updating 120 Hz, but on it the manufacturer has saved - under the protective glass there is an IPS matrix with a diagonal of 6.6 inches and a resolution of FHD+.

Another feature of the flagship can be called a battery, but not because of its volume of 4520 mA/h and support for charging with a capacity of 18 watts, and due to the presence of a wireless and reverse charging smartphone. Even despite the unusual orientation, the manufacturer does not forget about the amenities and really necessary solutions.

The camera does not reach the advanced level: there are three of them in total, they are represented in the form of two useful basic (64 MP, F/1.8), ultrashi -angle (8 megapixels, f/2.4, 118 gr.) Modules, as well as depth sensor (5 megapixels, F/2.4). There is no optical stabilization, no optical zoom, or even shooting in 4K - with the latter, all questions for the processor. The front module has a resolution and is also limited by video recording in 1080p, and even at 30 f/s.

There is no stereo sound in the smartphone, the scanner is in the lock button, 5G, Wi -Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC are available from the connection, and only one variation of memory is 8/128 GB. The device based on Android 12 works. Price - about $ 405 (~ 23000 p.).

Does this smartphone make sense? For those who believe in the bright future of the metavselnaya - yes, because it will have access to Viverse, as well as to Vive Avatar and Vive Wallet applications, allowing you to create their own avatars and have a "digital currency". The direction looks promising, but the smartphone itself is very strange: the flagship lotions are “screwed” to the budget platform, but it makes no sense to say a lot. With all this, the device does not look premium at all, but it can become the “face” of HTC.
