Roscosmos is going to be forced to launch the Erosita telescope disconnected by the Germans located at the spectrumRG observatory
- Jul 03
One of the results of exacerbation of international relations was restrictions on the Russian space. However, Russia did not remain in debt. Response measures were taken that will have a tremendous influence on the development of fundamental science. What does Roscosmos intend to do?
On July 13, 2019, the launch of the space observatory of the X -ray spectrum was launched. Spectrum-RG has become the fruit of cooperation between Russian-German researchers. "RG" deciphens as an X-ray-gamma. The telescope was created to study the expanses of the universe in the X -ray spectrum. The spectr-RG observatory includes two telescopes: German Erosita and Russian Art-XC.
In orbit, about 1.5 million km from the ground, at the L2 L2 point there is an Erosita telescope. This point is considered the best location, since the sun does not fall into the field of her vision. In the process of rotation around the Earth, the observatory makes a complete overview of the heavenly sphere for 6 months.
To calculate the number of galaxies, it is necessary to “scan” space with the help of mirror modules, each of which includes 54 gilded mirrors embedded in each other. Based on the collected data of Erosita, a star map is formed, on which the distribution of galaxies can be traced, and therefore their number.
Thanks to the professionalism of the employees of both countries, during the operation of Spectrum-RG, significant results were achieved.
The Russian IT project SFERA can rightfully be considered the most ambitious project. His release is not far off. To learn about the new digital ecosystem, follow the link. The collection of registration applications is opened.
If the functioning of Erosita is so important, why stop his work?
On February 27, 2022, against the backdrop of an exacerbation of international relations that affected the space sphere, the German side decided to independently turn off the telescope.
To clarify the situation, we turn to the words of the general director of the Roscosmos State Corporation Dmitry Rogozin: “The work of the space observatory is necessary for science. We will correct the Germans' mistake and turn on their telescope at our spectrum-RG observatory.
The activities of Roscosmos during the operation of the Spectr-RG observatory have proved the expediency of the project. According to the results of the work, almost 3 years out of 7 planned, about 20 thousand new extended objects were discovered: active nuclei of galaxies and the stars of the Milky Way. These discoveries are of tremendous significance and reveal the opportunity to find an explanation for the reasons for the expansion of the universe.
Do you see the need for the forced launch of the German telescope without agreement with foreign colleagues?
Due to the lack of a response from the audience, Zen does not give out our publications in the tape. We will be very grateful if you just like and sign.
