Payment by geolocation will be introduced in public transport in Yekaterinburg

Payment for fares using geolocation on all bus, tram and trolleybus routes in Yekaterinburg may appear as early as 2026.

“With a high degree of probability, a new type of payment will appear on all routes by the end of 2026, we are working hard on this. Everything depends on the supply of equipment that the transport is equipped with,” the interlocutor explained.

Currently, payment by geolocation is available on trolleybus No. 33, tram No. 1 and bus routes No. 80, 83, 48.
