Scientists have found traces of the Jehol biota: a search for ancient life took place in Siberia
Employees of the Institute of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics named after A.A. Trofimuk SB RAS completed a large-scale study of fossil insects in Central and Eastern Transbaikalia.
The attention of scientists was drawn to the Zhidka, Daya, Turga, Belaya Gora and Ust-Karsk sections.
Experts consider the larvae of the mayfly Ephemeropsis trisetalis to be the most interesting find.
Experts are now busy clarifying the dating of the sections that have already been studied and are planning a new expedition to Transbaikalia in 2026.
