Study: Nuts in the diet may have a positive effect on sleep
A number of studies show that including walnuts in your diet can help you fall asleep faster and increase levels of melatonin, a hormone that regulates the body's circadian rhythm.
As part of the study, a group of students recorded their eating habits over several weeks and assessed the effectiveness of their nightly rest.
The researchers also looked at clinical data from adults and found that walnuts had a particularly strong effect on sleep quality.
Participants received increased amounts of plant proteins and essential microelements.
